THE HISTORIC BRANCHES OF THE MULTITEL GROUP: MILAN AND TURIN, PLACES OF INNOVATION, EXPERIENCE AND SOLID ROOTS

Milan: the company’s vibrant heart, offering experience and modernity

Being the company’s registered office and having been in operation for over 50 years, the Milan branch marks a significant milestone in the Multitel Group’s history.

Telling us about it is Tiziano Marcassola, a historic figure of the Group and current spokesperson for the Milan office. Having started off as a sales rep for Lombardy, Piacenza and its province, and Canton Ticino, also covering the role of service coordinator for three years, in May 2025 Tiziano will be celebrating 30 years of service at Multitel.

A modern and constantly evolving operations centre

Three mobile workshops and a vehicle for logistics and minor tasks are available at the Milan branch. It employs a highly specialised technical team of seven people who work onsite to handle assistance, maintenance, structural repairs and welding on the truck-mounted platforms under the watchful eye of Marco Cavaliere, the workshop manager for seven years.

The internal logistics department is undergoing modernisation: an automated Modula unit will shortly replace the existing manually operated spare parts storage, further improving efficiency. At the moment, even with the current system, a component requested by 3pm can be delivered to the customer within 24 hours.

The Milan site is the focal point of a major renovation project which includes the completion of the vehicle wash and other functional areas of the yard, while work is underway to install a solar system. Also outside is a weighbridge for testing and the area is clearly visible from the motorway, with vehicles on display and ready for delivery.

A comprehensive structure for customer service

The facility is on two floors: the ground floor houses the reception, the workshop manager’s office and the technical office with its direct connection to headquarters. Two administrative and commercial offices are on the first floor. Here, Andrea Baviera assists Tiziano by overseeing the administrative tasks in synergy with Ada Gonella’s team from the Manta location.

The branch does much more than just provide assistance: in addition to internal training sessions for technical staff, there are also technical demonstrations for customers (also organised at customers’ premises), and truck-mounted platform registrations are completed, both for the local areas and for other areas.

A reference point for the Italian and European markets

Customers from all over Italy as well as several European countries, including Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland, are welcomed at the Milan branch. It is often the designated location for delivery of the truck-mounted and tracked spider platforms bought.

Tiziano has a significant past in the selling of 60-70 metre truck-mounted platforms. This is a sector that is highly sought-after for maintenance work at heights, especially in an urban setting like Milan which is home to towering apartment complexes, skyscrapers, and contemporary constructions. Of the lighter-weight truck-mounted platforms however, only about 25% are for end customers, with about 75% intended for rental.

A record of professionalism and change

In the 90s and early 2000s, the Milan site was also a centre for equipping and testing of the historic 160ALU, with about 200 machines completed per year. Eight years ago, the workshop was completely renovated: today it has two overhead cranes, three self-propelled platforms for maintenance, a lifting bridge for trucks and a weighbridge for testing, making the facility entirely independent from every technological standpoint.

Turin: a tactical technical presence for assistance in the area

The second significant presence in the Multitel Group’s history is the Turin branch, which has been in operation for over 45 years and has an expert and dynamic team. It acts as a reference point for the technical assistance of Multitel truck-mounted and tracked spider platforms throughout the Northwest.

Luca Rubiolo, service manager of the Multitel Group, leads us through this location’s story, underlining its strategic importance: “The Milan and Turin branches are for us a fundamental operational extension of the work that takes place in Manta. They truly represent a territorial expansion of our technical arm”.

The Turin branch can count on six people, all of whom are fully engaged in technical assistance both onsite and through direct interventions thanks to mobile workshops that enable quick and efficient handling of requests throughout the country. The team also provides support to the Multitel assistance network in Europe.

Updated headquarters and growing team

The branch’s facilities have recently undergone structural upgrades and maintenance, improving the efficiency of the work areas and customer reception. Notable is the installation of the section for overhauling hydraulic cylinders, which was specially designed and built in partnership with a long-standing supplier of the company, with the intention of adopting it soon in all other branches. The team is currently coordinated by Simone Ceccato, who has been the branch’s workshop manager for 7 years. In addition to overseeing the technical tasks, he also deals with the action reports.

The site will soon be bolstered by the addition of a person for reception and support in the office, which will allow the team to focus even more on technical assistance tasks and on enhancing the user experience for customers contacting the facilities.

Two branches, one goal: proximity to the customer and high-quality service

The Milan and Turin branches’ strength is their ability to work in tandem with the Manta headquarters, offering specialised technical assistance services and direct support to the customer, in line with the Group’s highest standards.

In a market that is constantly evolving and where the upkeep and efficiency of truck-mounted and tracked spider platforms are essential assets, the Multitel Group is able to respond swiftly, accurately and professionally thanks to the presence of expert staff, fully furnished mobile workshops and independent operational sites.

Multitel excellence, in your vicinity

Whether it is the historic site in Milan, the company’s beating heart, or the Turin site, always ready to intervene in the territory, the branches of the Multitel Group serve as two reference points for assistance, sale and delivery of truck-mounted and tracked spider platforms.

Two different locations, but united by the same mission: to offer quality, reliability and innovation, with the solidity of a Group that has made excellence its defining characteristic.
