The traditional Christmas tree set up in Piazza Venezia in Rome was inaugurated on the 8th of December with the lighting of 100,000 bulbs. Twenty-two metres high, the fir tree stands in front of the Altare della Patria, in one of the most important squares of the ‘eternal city’, from which five streets branch off, including Via dei Fori Imperiali and Via del Corso. Titocci srl, a Capitoline company specialised in the rental and sale of aerial platforms and construction work, took care of the set-up. The operation required the simultaneous use of two Multitel Pagliero truck-mounted telescopic platforms with a working height of 35 and 37.5 metres: an old purchase, the J335 ALU, and the more recent MJ375.
The latter is mounted on an 18-ton truck and has a maximum horizontal outreach of 25.80 metres – 22 metres the one of the J335 ALU – while the turret’s 360° continuous rotation and extendable jib enable the operator to position themselves precisely at the work area. Smooth and fast movements, gentle levelling, thanks to EVE, Multitel Pagliero’s evolved electronics, which ensures a fluid extending of the sections and the lifting of the boom in perfect balance and immediate corrections. Built for great heights, the MJ375 and J335 ALU have a footprint that makes them ideal for urban operations where space and access are restricted.
