The high-range truck-mounted platforms by Bettarini Autogru
Bettarini Autogru was established in 1950 and is now a prominent company in the lifting and rental sector of aerial platforms and mobile cranes in Tuscany and throughout Italy. The company is led by the siblings Fabrizio and Massimo Bettarini and Stefania Poli, now joined by the family’s fourth generation: Matteo, Eva, Andrea, and Giorgio.
Although the company’s headquarters are in Livorno, it operates across the country in a number of industries, including energy, ports, and shipyards, bridge and viaduct infrastructure, the chemical industry, refineries, and even large-scale demolitions.
Use of high platforms in urban environments
Three divisions and a team of just over 50 people
Today, the company has a little more than 50 employees spread across three main divisions:
- Crane rental
- Rental of aerial platforms and other types of equipment, with or without operator
- Legal transportation of oversized loads.
It also has its own warehouses, as well as an in-house maintenance facility manned by four trained technicians who operate both on-site and off-site with two equipped vehicles.
With the assistance of certified instructors, Bettarini also provides training courses on the safe operation of vehicles and machinery to its own staff as well as to operators from other companies.
A fleet ranging from 17 to 80 metres
The fleet of the aerial platform division ranges from the 17-metre Piaggio Porter to the MJ 775, the tallest truck-mounted platform in the Multitel range.
- From 17 to 27 metres, the company rents platforms without operators
- From 32 to 80 metres, rented only with its own operators.
Fabrizio Bettarini points out how the Multitel control panels’ simple, intuitive use benefits operators of platforms from 32 to 77.5 metres: despite the differences between the models, the main controls are the same, which cuts down on training time and boosts productivity.
Maintenance of the Amerigo Vespucci
Over 20 years of collaboration with Multitel Pagliero
The relationship with Multitel dates back more than twenty years, to the time when the company was led by its founder, who was in direct contact with Renzo Pagliero.
Today, this partnership is continued by Mauro Rossi, Multitel’s agent for Tuscany, who says:
“Our collaboration with Bettarini began over twenty years ago. Today, there is a relationship of mutual trust and respect. My role is to listen to the company’s needs and recommend the most suitable Multitel platform to meet the work demands of their end customers.”
For his part, Fabrizio Bettarini confirms:
“We selected Multitel not just for the calibre of its machinery but also for the company’s core beliefs. Every need we’ve had throughout the years has been listened to and satisfied. For us, this is essential.”
Technology and after-sales service: Multitel’s strengths
The company is very interested in the new MJE 710, appreciating its new extension system and compact design, and hopes to soon see these innovations applied to the high-end versions.
But the real strength, according to Bettarini, is Multitel’s after-sales service: “There’s always someone ready to help, 24/7, even on holidays. This is a priceless service and is genuinely transformative.”
Thanks to this combination of history, family values, a modern fleet, and a solid partnership with Multitel, Bettarini Autogru remains a standard in the Italian lifting industry.
