THE NEW MJ375 TELESCOPIC PLATFORM EXPANDS GIANFRANCO SAVANI SRL’S RENTAL FLEET FOR GREAT HEIGHTS

Gianfranco Savani

Gianfranco Savani SRL acquires the new MJ375 telescopic platform.

Gianfranco Savani, owner of the company of the same name founded in 1977 in Lavariano (Udine), is very familiar with aerial platforms. He has always used them for his main activity: painting the facades of apartment blocks and the interior and exterior of industrial facilities, painting silos, and installing thermal, acoustic and fireproof insulation. Over time, this activity has also expanded and specialised in rental, both with and without an operator, for companies operating in the field of industrial assembly and maintenance, pruning, sheet metal work, filming, installation of mobile phone systems, restoration of building works, and installation of electrical and plumbing systems.

In Gianfranco Savani srl’s rental fleet, the Multitel Pagliero truck-mounted platforms entered in 2009 with the 66-metre J365 and the MX130: a peculiar 13-metre articulated platform without stabilisers. Then came the MX196, MX235, MX250 articulated platforms and the MJ450, which has been joined in recent weeks by the MJ375 (working height 37.5 m). Models that meet the needs of those working at great heights, as demonstrated by the forthcoming arrival in 2024 of the 60-metre MJ600. The new MJ375 — on a Man three-axle 26 tonne truck — was chosen by engineer Costantino Savani for its compactness during transport, manoeuvring and placing. The overall dimensions of 8 metres and the ability to work below ground reach at -8 m make it ideal also for urban operations, where space and access are limited. The same working outreach is available for a smaller stabilisation: 25.80 m with 120 kg, 24.30 m with 280 kg, 20.80 m with 500 kg. The 360° continuous turret rotation, the self-levelling basket with 180° + 180° rotation, and the removable jib give the operator great freedom of manoeuvre and precision. The machine is equipped with a winch with a capacity of 700 kg, and with its ‘sister’ MJ 450 it has the possibility of exchanging the XL basket with front opening (eternit basket) for construction work. Over the years, the increase in the offer on platforms with great heights has been accompanied by the development of the training area, which was initiated by Engineer Costantino Savani and culminated in 2008 with the IPAF certification. In 2023, with the construction of a new training room, the company obtained certification as a Training Centre.
